How it all began..

Neil and I have been married for 8 years this year. 8 long, amazing, hard, emotional, happy years. We've definitely grown together, we've learnt to tolerate flaws, and we've laughed more than I ever imagined was possible. It's amazing how well we suit each other considering how different we are. We met by pure chance, but it was meant to be. I'll take you back to that "magical" evening 9 years ago..

This is exactly what I'm doing right now.    (Photo credit: http://lifestyle.beiruting.com)

I was going on a date. I was excited, and dressed up, and ready to have a good time.. Problem was, I'd taken this guys number when I was just a little tipsy, and couldn't particularly remember what he looked like. Oops!
He'd sent me a text message asking me out that evening, and wanting a night out I'd said yes, on the condition that it would be a double date, and I could bring my friend. Bless her, she took one for the team, dressed up and came out on her blind double date. Then again, I was on a blind date myself really. For all I knew I was meeting Quasimodo.

Hi, I'm here for our date?     (Photo credit: ugly people.com)

We arrived at the cocktail bar and had made the plan to walk straight to the bathrooms and scan the room for mystery man as we went. He wasn't hard to miss waving madly from the furthest corner. My heart sank.. Surely he wasn't the one? Surely my vision wasn't that blurred last week? Nevermind. I'd got ready, I was out, he was probably a really nice guy. Lets have a good time anyway.
We walked over introduced ourselves to his two (!) friends that he'd brought along and ordered some drinks. We laughed, and drank, and chatted. The drinks were flowing, and I couldn't help but notice that my date was a bit of a.. Well.. Big headed Moron. I didn't really like him Very much, but my friend had got on really well with one of his friends, and it was my turn to take one for the team. Lucky girl, because he was gorgeous! He had the most amazing blue eyes, and she really did like him.
We moved on to the next bar and had a really good time, even with captain moron with us. My friend slowly gave up on blue eyes, he was being all sultry and quiet sat at the bar by himself. I tried to chat to him, entice him to play some drinking games, choose some music.. Nothing.

When it got late (or early!)We said our goodbyes and thanked them all for a good night, and had our usual girly night recap in the taxi home.

A week later I got a text message from blue eyes. He was at home for the next 4 weeks, but Did I want to meet him and go for a drink when he was back? I did! We texted each other for 4 weeks and i really started to like him. When we went out It was a brilliant night in an Irish bar, and I fell for him.
We met in the April, he proposed in the August, and we married the next April.

I had no idea that that first night that I was on a date with another man,  I'd met my future husband.

Now we've been married for what seems forever. Three kids, two dogs and two turtles later I couldn't imagine living my life without him. He makes me laugh everyday, and makes me feel super intelligent with the shit he says. What more could you want from a relation ship? Lol.

 Aww...      (Phtotcredit: my iPhone. )

Sometimes I review stuff and then talk about it..

Sometimes I get sent some awesome free stuff to test out. It's super exciting, and all I have to do is leave reviews and tell people about it in return. So far i've been given a set of E45 body lotions, a set of right guard deodorants, Yum butter and cheese spreads, a bundle of ribena cartons, and a veet electric wax kit.

I received the new veet easy wax electric roll-on yesterday. I crapped myself. I mean, waxing isn't fun it it?  Waxing isn't awesome, and I don't want to be someone's lab rat for it.. But nevertheless I still tried it. And it's pretty bloody good actually!

I'm a super big wimp when it comes to pain (even after birthing three kids) so I was surprised when it didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would.

Watch my video mofos, it'll show how awesome it is. There's also a code at the end for 50% off if you order one from amazon. I know.. Amaze balls. You're welcome.

I'm still trying to figure out why my youtube video "can't be found", so that i can put it in here. *le sigh*

*note. I've managed to put the video in thee side bar to the right, i might figure this all out one day. haha.

Hi, I'm Jamie. I'm new around here.

Today i felt brave. Like i wanted to achieve something whilst the baby napped. The question was what? something not too strenuous (I'm not mad you know!) and something i could do in the house that didn't involve cleaning. blogging it is.
I've toyed with the idea of blogging for a while, but have never had the courage to do so in case my writing wasn't.. you know.. good. Alas, today is the day.
I thought 'ill just write down some stuff, add some pictures and voila!'
How very wrong of me. If you've never blogged before, and you're computer skills stop at facebook log in, this stuff can be confusing!

It all starts with the name. 'pick a name' the box says. Pick one that's not too common, but not so uncommon people wont remember. Make is simple, but not boring. Make it relatable, but not too personal. Rhyming is good, numbers are bad.
Finally, you've found one! It's perfect! i'll have it! wait... what?
 "this name is already taken"
crap.

I wrote a list of things that relate to me and added them together using a web domain name finder. It suggests names using your words. Great right?
"armywifemum, mumbakingwife, kidswifefun", err... no thanks.
In the end i thought of just 5 minutes of peace because that seems to be the goal in my house. I clean and I enjoy a cup of tea for 5 minutes in a clean and tidy house, then the kids come back from school.
I walk the dogs and as a reward get 5 minutes without being slobbered on, or having to throw a ball. I rock back and forth in the wardrobe in my room for 5 blissful minutes before someone starts banging on the door.. i kid. sort of. :)

My life passes in 5 minute increments, and though 5 minutes may not seem long they can contain the most amazing things. a cuddle from the baby, a chat with the kids about their day, a phone call from the grandparents, and the most amazing homecoming after 6 months apart.
5 minutes can be awesome, and i'd like to share some of my 5 minutes with you.

How do you like to spend your 5 minutes of peace?
